Requirements:
  • 2 to 6+ years of experience in litigation in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.
  • Must maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
  • Ability to document files professionally and follow complex instructions.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking skills, and ability to learn large amounts of information.
Responsibilities:
  • Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
  • Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
  • Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial.
  • Defending matters assigned in trials or dispositive hearings.
