Interface Developer

Requirements:

• Experience with healthcare IT applications like EHR, EMR, RIS, LIS, and PACS.
• Knowledge and experience implementing healthcare IT standards including HL7, FHIR, SNOMED, LOINC, and DICOM.
• Experience building interface connectivity methods like VPNs, SFTP, APIs, and web services.
• Knowledge of interoperability engines such as Rhapsody, Corepoint, Cloverleaf, or Iguana; Rhapsody experience required.
• Experience designing healthcare IT interface workflows including PACS interfaces.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• AWS experience, specifically with VPC and EC2, is preferred.
• Strong documentation skills for workflow and architecture diagrams.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Establishing interface connectivity via APIs, VPNs, SFTP, or web services.
• Transforming messages using standards and formats like DICOM, HL7, FHIR, JSON, HTML, and XML.
• Completing necessary database changes for interface builds.
• Building uni-directional and bi-directional interfaces for clinical workflows.
• Working with team members to define interface requirements and mappings.
• Assisting with interface design and architecture as needed.
• Participating in project management activities.
• Performing unit testing on all interface builds.
• Ensuring best practices are implemented.
• Reporting escalated issues to the Head of Integration.
• Communicating progress and roadblocks regularly.
