Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Management, Strategic Management, or Program/Project Management is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, program management, or a related field, preferably within a military or government setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, executing, and measuring communication strategies.
  • Strong ability to extend narratives across multiple media channels.
  • Proficiency in project management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Extensive experience in internal and external stakeholder communication.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in managing digital communication campaigns.
  • Ability to track, analyze, and measure communication effectiveness.
  • Proven leadership in collaborating with internal teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic communication plans, aligning with AFWERX organizational priorities.
  • Conduct strategic research, analyze the communication landscape, and identify target audiences and key messaging strategies.
  • Submit communications plans and deliverables for government review and approval.
  • Implement integrated communication strategies across various media, ensuring compliance with operational security requirements.
  • Collaborate with AFWERX leadership and subject matter experts to enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Facilitate internal communications within AFWERX, ensuring personnel remain informed.
  • Engage with government agencies, industry partners, and NGOs to enhance AFWERX’s reputation.
  • Track and evaluate communication effectiveness using analytics tools.
  • Ensure messaging consistency across all platforms.
  • Develop and manage relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead messaging and content strategy for various communication outputs.
  • Serve as the primary communications point of contact, ensuring alignment with AFWERX objectives.
  • Utilize feedback from stakeholders to improve communication efforts.
  • Support content development teams aligning with AFWERX brand guidelines.
  • Stay informed about trends in strategic communications.
  • Lead communications planning for campaigns and events.
  • Recommend and implement new tools to enhance communication efficiency.
