Requirements:

• Desire to apply design skills to serious climate issues and residential energy efficiency.
• Experience with smaller teams or early-stage products and willingness for broad ownership.
• Ability to connect with tech-ambivalent contractor users and address their core problems.
• Capability to identify patterns in government programs and design flexible solutions.
• Viewing design as a craft centered around user understanding and effective software solutions.
• Sufficient experience to help navigate complexities while being hands-on.

Responsibilities:

• Connecting the engineering team to the users, understanding our strategy and challenges, and identifying design solutions.
• Conducting research, design, and iteration to keep roadmap projects moving on schedule and landing with impact.
• Shadowing sales and account management calls to understand user needs.
• Reviewing product metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, proposing projects or refinements.
• Partnering with the product team to maintain a high user experience standard throughout the planning and release lifecycle.
• Shaping design and product & engineering processes.
