Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with power system analysis specifically interconnection studies.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience in an Independent Power Producer (IPP) or as an interconnection studies consultant.
• Strong subject matter expertise in organized markets like CAISO, SPP, MISO, PJM.
• Proficient in TARA, PSCAD, PSSE, and PSLF power simulation software.
• Understanding of electricity market policy and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in maintaining transparency and collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Python coding skills preferred, advanced Excel, VBA, SQL skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct steady state power transmission system analysis using TARA to predict network upgrades.
• Review interconnection reports and develop strategies to favor Plus Power projects.
• Streamline interconnection processes and automate studies with Python.
• Replicate interconnection studies amid uncertainties about the transmission grid.
• Pull data from ISOs and produce reports.
• Support communications with utilities and ISOs from project inception to COD.
• Develop interconnection application models on PSCAD and PSSE.
• Act as a subject matter expert on interconnection queues and tariffs.
• Guide junior engineers in transmission planning studies.
• Attend engineering meetings and relay key findings.
