Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant experience or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Adept knowledge in IT principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of system administration in a Windows environment.
  • Clearance requirement: US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • Willing and able to get a Public Trust Suitability clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive application administration support services for IT operations software, at an enterprise level, to include installation, maintenance, and administration of the application, as well as offering subject matter expertise for configuring and customizing the application.
  • Maintain and update knowledge-based documents, evaluate application configurations, and implement Government recommended improvements within the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
  • Assist in the setup of essential administration components like notifications, service level agreements, and service contracts. All system changes shall be documented in accordance with VA policy and current change management framework.
  • Support the installation and configuration of VA Technical Reference Model third-party software applications and assist users, software vendors, and other administrators with application-related problems and projects.
  • Support the VA’s system monitoring framework that utilizes both passive and active monitoring tools to continuously assess the health and performance of more than 600,000 endpoint devices within the VA network.
  • Troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly.
