Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with Structural concentration) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of PLS (Power Line Systems).
- Experience with substation and transmission line folded plate structure design and fabrication.
- Structural Licensure (SE) preferred.
- Working knowledge of Staad Pro, MathCAD, Risa, and L-Pile preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills.
- Knowledge of substation layout and equipment function.
Responsibilities
- Create and check structural steel and foundation designs and calculations.
- Perform rigid bus, sag, and tension calculations.
- Ensure designs adhere to building codes, customer specifications, and electrical clearance requirements.
- Produce accurate structural calculations and foundation construction drawings.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to the project design team.
- Coordinate with project managers to resolve field problems and project impediments.
- Assist Proposal Department with structural estimates and sketches for bids.
- Participate in R&D of productivity tools for engineering software.
