Requirements
- Ability to connect with young people quickly.
- Proficiency in hosting live academic launches or interactive sessions on camera.
- High energy level while on video for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain high standards and keep students on task.
- Reliability and consistency for daily attendance.
- Access to a quiet workspace, a working laptop/desktop, a decent webcam, and stable internet.
- Experience with student-athletes (bonus).
- Tutoring or academic support experience (bonus).
- Technical aptitude to learn new tools quickly.
- Existing bank of virtual games, icebreakers, or challenges.
Responsibilities
- Run Academic Launches: Host short, fun live activities over webcam to open sessions, set the tone, and get students engaged before they dive into their coursework.
- Lead Academic Blocks: Show up on video ready to run the session and keep students focused on their academic work.
- Build Real Connections With Students: Get to know each kid, what they care about, what motivates them, and what gets in their way.
- Motivate Students to Finish Their Work: Keep momentum high during the block, celebrate progress, and help students push through difficult tasks.
- Track Daily Progress: Monitor what each student is working on, completion rates, and obstacles; flag patterns to the team.
- Communicate With the Team: Share quick daily updates on session outcomes and student support needs.
