Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
- Significant experience managing managers.
- Experience leading large, high-priority projects that impacted company direction.
- Ability to understand the macro threat landscape and translate it into actionable plans.
- Understanding of how a SOC fits into a business model.
- Ability to articulate the ROI of detection engineering to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing a department budget.
- Strong skills in empowering others through frameworks and structures rather than direct problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Set the direction, strategy, and vision for the entire DE&TH function.
- Define the team's 12-18-month prioritization.
- Manage at least two teams or sub-teams via other managers.
- Develop leadership capabilities and hold managers accountable for team output.
- Propose and own plans for budgeting, execution, and hiring.
- Develop capacity models to align growth with overall company expansion.
- Strategize with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Security.
- Advocate for telemetry and architectural changes to support detection use cases.
- Identify patterns regarding root causes of problems and deliver systemic solutions.
- Create and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
