Requirements
- Knowledge of Afghan history, culture, and politics.
- Understanding of key security, human rights, and political developments in Afghanistan.
- Proven track record in OSINT-driven investigations.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Farsi (Dari) and Pashto; Urdu is desirable.
- Experience in media monitoring projects with sizeable datasets.
- Expertise in using OSINT tools, platforms, and methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Employ open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media intelligence (SOCMINT) tools to conduct comprehensive investigations.
- Conduct social media monitoring, data collection, categorisation, and processing in accordance with project protocols.
- Employ verification techniques such as geolocation and chrono-location.
- Synthesise findings into compelling and informative narrative reporting.
- Investigate the Afghan information environment and assist with translations.
- Develop and maintain expertise in Afghan social, political, security, and economic dynamics.
- Present investigations for reports to donors or social media publication.
- Provide training to other organisations and individuals on investigative techniques.
