Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in personal finance, tax preparation, bookkeeping, wealth advisory, financial coaching, or accounting support.
- Experience with budgeting systems, tax packet preparation, personal bookkeeping, transaction categorization, or credit card comparison.
- Familiarity with tools such as TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Monarch, Copilot, Excel, or Google Sheets.
- Comfort reading and preparing personal finance artifacts such as budgets, tax packets, dispute letters, and financial checklists.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to follow structured instructions and produce evidence-based work.
- Degree or professional background in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field preferred.
- CFP, EA, CPA, or relevant bookkeeping/tax certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review personal finance scenarios involving transaction categorization, budget reconciliation, spending analysis, and anomaly detection.
- Evaluate transactions against defined category maps, budget targets, account summaries, and documented financial records.
- Identify missing information, categorization issues, spending anomalies, and expected financial outcomes.
- Review tax preparation scenarios involving required-document checklists, tax packet assembly, income records, and deductions.
- Support structured review of net worth rollups, asset summaries, liability records, and portfolio summaries.
- Prepare clear written explanations for financial documentation decisions based on source materials and defined criteria.
- Review consumer finance scenarios involving credit card comparisons, rewards structures, billing disputes, and account statements.
