Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in operational risk, controls testing, internal audit, or compliance.
- Direct experience within the financial services sector.
- Understanding of non-financial risk domains including compliance, third-party, business continuity, and tech/cyber.
- Background in regulated fintech, neobank, or direct-to-consumer financial institutions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with OSFI regulatory standards.
- Passionate about innovation and automation (AI/ML/RPA).
Responsibilities
- Evolve operational risk management framework aligned with OSFI Guidelines (E-21, B-10, E-13).
- Lead end-to-end development and execution of a Second Line Controls Testing program.
- Develop annual Controls Testing plans with risk-based scoping.
- Maintain test scripts, workpapers, and documentation to support findings.
- Track and monitor remediation activities with First Line business owners.
- Establish BPO for independent controls testing and maintain a QA process.
- Support enterprise-wide Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs).
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, and RPA in risk processes.
