Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in regulatory legal roles, preferably within the payments, fintech, or cryptocurrency sectors.
- Experience in legal and regulatory practices relevant to Korean financial regulations.
- Involvement in licensing or direct interaction with Korean regulatory bodies.
- In-house legal experience within Financial Services, Fintech, Technology, or related regulated industries is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in Korean regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic legal advice balancing regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Proven track record of working independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver clear, actionable counsel under tight deadlines.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, compliance reviews, and enhanced due diligence.
- Hands-on approach with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal and regulatory support to local business teams in Korea, including general legal advice, contract review, and negotiation assistance.
- Proactively identify regulatory and legal risks, propose solutions, and anticipate support needs.
- Monitor, interpret, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Korean laws, regulations, and regulatory developments.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of local legal and compliance programs.
- Support internal stakeholders in regulatory filings, licensing, and responding to regulatory inquiries or investigations in Korea.
