Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE)

Track record of managing or mentoring engineers in customer-facing or professional services roles. Skilled at balancing hands-on technical delivery with leadership and program-building. Strong experience in Go (preferred) or another backend language (Python, TypeScript, Java). Fluent in APIs, webhooks, and modern identity standards (SCIM, SAML, OAuth). Experience building integrations with third-party services. Communicate clearly with engineers and executives. Thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Experience with identity and access management systems (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, Active Directory) is a plus. Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), observability tools (DataDog/Prometheus), and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers. Define and scale the FDE program, building repeatable processes. Act as player and coach, contributing to customer engagements and developing program vision. Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to identify productizable features. Partner with Customer Success and Solutions teams. Design, implement, test, and operate connectors, APIs, and provisioning flows. Provide technical guidance and review across projects. Build feedback loops from customer experience to roadmap. Hire and onboard new Forward Deployed Engineers. Occasionally travel to meet customers or lead workshops.
