Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of leadership experience in bursar, financial aid, or student accounting office.
  • Preferred experience with Campus Nexus/Anthology student information system.
  • Preferred experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Able to diffuse difficult student/customer issues.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervises all bursar functions and related personnel.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to all team members; creates an environment that fosters growth.
  • Offers students the highest level of customer service through the billing and collections process.
  • Hires and trains members of the bursar team as well as conduct performance evaluations.
  • Maintains office policies and procedures; keeps updated business practices to achieve institutional goals.
  • Works closely with the student accounting team to ensure billing information matches student documents.
  • Collaborates with other departments to create streamlined processes and communications for a positive student experience.
  • Responds to student needs via email and phone.
  • Manages team to answer questions about student accounts and takes payments.
  • Advises students about payment methods, payment alerts, and changes to their accounts.
