Manager, Software Engineering (Onfra Engineering)

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of technical and organizational leadership, preferably in the infrastructure or SRE domain.
• Experience in a SaaS company delivering services 24/7.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native traffic management, networking, security concepts at scale.
• Experience in designing and creating cloud-native CD systems.
• Solid CS fundamentals and practical coding/debugging experience with Python, Go, C++, or JVM-based languages.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers.
• Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) is a plus.
• Enthusiastic vision for leading technical teams and building their careers.
• Prefer leveraging and contributing to Open Source solutions.
• Experience collaborating with teams across time zones.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a European-based team of infrastructure engineers.
• Guide their technical decisions, projects, and roadmaps within the Online Infrastructure team.
• Shape and own Affirm’s strategy for delivering and managing foundational computing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with peers, leadership, and stakeholders across engineering organizations.
• Design and implement frameworks, services, and tools for new products and business needs to scale securely.
• Guide and aid in the professional growth of junior and senior engineers, promoting best practices.
