Staff Optical Engineer

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in optical engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in lens and optical system design.
• Expertise in Zemax or Code V.
• Expertise in stray light analysis (Fred or LightTools).
• Industry experience in lens manufacturing.
• Expertise in lens design for digital cameras and other applications.
• Experience in optical system design trade studies and simulations.
• Strong knowledge of specifying lens design and performance parameters.

Responsibilities:

• Own all aspects of new lens design, qualification, and production.
• Define and simulate optical requirements for future products.
• Analyze lens prescriptions and guide vendors on specifications.
• Supervise prototype and production lens testing.
• Develop internal processes to streamline design and testing.
• Manage lens vendor relationships to meet performance and budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product excellence.
• Create new solutions and develop technologies in optics.
